Bringing Light to Syrian Homes: A Ramadan Effort by the Dukhni Amal Project
by Dukhni Marketing
on Jun 17 2025
After over a decade of war, Syria remains one of the most fragile and suffering regions in the world. The conflict has displaced millions, decimated infrastructure, and pushed more than 90% of the population below the poverty line. Entire families live in makeshift shelters, without stable access to food, water, or medical care. Today, over 12 million Syrians face food insecurity, and 6.8 million are internally displaced — caught in a relentless cycle of loss and survival.
In Ramadan, a month meant for reflection, family, and fasting, the hardship of hunger becomes even more painful for those without enough to eat. For many in Syria, the simple act of breaking a fast with dignity is a luxury they can no longer afford.
Through the Dukhni Amal Project, we had the honor of supporting Islamic Relief UK’s Bilad Al Shaam Ramadan Food Programme 2025 — a vital initiative that delivered life-saving food assistance to some of the most vulnerable families in Aleppo (Azaz district) and Idleb (Harim and Idleb districts) — areas deeply affected by years of violence and instability.
Through this collaboration, over 650 families — nearly 3,250 individuals — received Ramadan food packs. Each parcel, weighing over 52kg, was carefully curated to nourish a family of five for the month. It included:
15kg Rice
10kg Wheat Flour
8L Sunflower Oil
8kg Sugar
2kg Red Lentils
2kg Green Lentils
Spaghetti, Tomato Paste, Margarine, Salt, and Dates
These weren’t just ingredients — they were lifelines. One mother, displaced from Aleppo, said: “Without this food, I don’t know how we would have broken our fasts. It brought light to our home. It felt like we were remembered.”
At Dukhni, we believe in more than just scent — we believe in amal, or hope. The Dukhni Amal Project is our commitment to meaningful, ongoing support for vulnerable Muslim communities across the world.
As the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: "The best of you are those who feed others." (Musnad Ahmad)
This hadith reminds us that generosity is not measured by amount, but by intention and action. Every contribution, every shared meal, and every effort to ease someone else’s hardship is beloved in the sight of Allah (SWT).
We are deeply grateful to Islamic Relief UK for their tireless work and honored to support this cause. May our small acts of mercy continue to make a lasting difference, and may Allah accept our intentions and bless every home with comfort and provision.
Together, let us continue to bring light, dignity, and remembrance to the lives of those who need it most.
Dukhni Amal Project Supports Emergency Relief Efforts in Sudan

on May 12 2025
Sudan, a country of immense history and resilience, has been facing one of the world’s most urgent and devastating humanitarian crises. Since April 2023, conflict erupted in the capital city of Khartoum, spreading to regions including North Darfur, South Darfur, North Kordofan, Kassala, and Gedaref. What began as political unrest has quickly escalated into widespread violence, displacement, and scarcity.
More than 6 million people have been forced from their homes. Over 1.2 million Sudanese have fled the country entirely, and an estimated 3 million children have been displaced, making this the largest child displacement crisis in the world today.
In many areas, civilians have been left without access to food, clean water, electricity, or medical care. Entire communities are on the move, trying to find safety and stability in increasingly difficult conditions.
Humanitarian organizations working on the ground continue to call for urgent support to meet basic needs. One such organization is One Nation UK, whose Sudan Emergency Appeal is helping to provide food, water, and essential supplies to displaced families across the region.
In Times of Crisis, Every Meal Matters
In late March, Dukhni Amal Project contributed to this effort with a donation that was used to provide 3,645 meals to people affected by the crisis. This small step was taken to bring a moment of relief to those who are suffering.
As the crisis escalates, so does the need for solidarity and sustained support. In times like these, we turn to the timeless wisdom of our faith. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
“The best of you are those who feed others.” [Musnad Ahmad 23926]
With this in heart and mind, the Dukhni Amal Project will continue to focus its efforts on supporting vulnerable communities in Sudan and beyond. Every meal provided is more than nourishment—it is a message of hope, dignity, and humanity.
We thank One Nation UK for their incredible on-ground work, and we thank you—our customers and supporters—for making this possible through your continued trust in Dukhni.
Let us continue to uplift each other, one act of kindness at a time.
Orphan Sponsorship : Hope For Naif
by Dukhni Marketing

Yemen is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, with 1.1 million orphans and over 9.8 million children in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. The ongoing conflict, which has persisted for decades, has left the country devastated, affecting millions of children who are growing up without access to basic necessities. War, economic collapse, and disease outbreaks have made Yemen one of the most dangerous places for children to live.
Traditionally, an orphan is defined as a child under the age of 18 who has lost or been abandoned by both parents. However, humanitarian organizations such as UNICEF, Islamic Relief, and many other charitable groups extend the definition to include any child who has lost one parent. This broader definition is crucial in regions like Yemen, where many children are left vulnerable due to the death of a single parent. These organizations take into account the child’s economic conditions, family size, health, and living situation when providing aid and support.
One such orphan in Yemen is Naif Al-Zuhairi, who is now receiving sponsorship through the Dukhni Amal Project, made possible by the generous support of our customers. Naif is a quiet, 13-year-old boy from Sana’a, Yemen. He is currently attending primary school and, despite the challenges he faces, maintains a good attendance record and performs well in his studies. Sadly, Naif’s father passed away, leaving him in the care of his mother along with his six siblings.
Naif’s family lives in a rented flat made of brick, but their living conditions are far from stable. They struggle with an inadequate water supply, damaged sanitation facilities, restricted access to gas, and an unreliable electricity supply. These challenges make everyday life incredibly difficult, particularly for a young boy trying to focus on his education.
Despite these hardships, Naif remains determined to continue his schooling. Through the sponsorship provided by the Dukhni Amal Project, he will have access to essential resources such as school supplies, uniforms, and educational materials, ensuring that he does not fall behind in his studies. Moreover, access to nutritious food and healthcare will help address some of the struggles that orphans like Naif face, making his life a little easier and giving his family peace of mind.
This sponsorship will continue for a minimum of one year, and we are committed to keeping our customers updated on Naif’s progress. We wish him the best of luck and pray to Allah (SWT) for his health and well-being. It is an honor for the Dukhni Amal Project to be a small part of his journey, and we are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our customers, which makes this initiative possible. Together, we can bring hope and relief to children in need, one life at a time.

January in Lebanon is marked by freezing temperatures, icy winds, and heavy rains. For many, it’s a time to huddle indoors, wrapped in layers of warmth, safe from the biting cold. However, for tens of thousands of refugees residing in makeshift tents across the country, this season is a harsh and relentless battle for survival.
The plight of Syrian refugees in Lebanon is particularly severe. Lebanon hosts one of the highest per capita populations of refugees in the world, with the majority of these individuals fleeing the ongoing crisis from neighbouring Syria. The Beqaa Valley, located in eastern Lebanon, is home to many of these refugees who live in informal tented settlements. With no access to a steady income and limited resources, their lives are a daily struggle to secure even the most necessary necessities. Winter amplifies these struggles, as families face an unforgiving climate without sufficient means to stay warm.
In these camps, tents made of tarpaulin and wood provide little protection against the cold. Fuel for heaters is a luxury few can afford, leaving families with no choice but to endure freezing nights. Children, the elderly, and those already in poor health are particularly vulnerable, with hypothermia and respiratory illnesses becoming all too common. This winter, the situation is especially dire as rising costs and limited aid leave many refugees without adequate clothing to shield them from the elements.
The Dukhni Amal Project, in collaboration with One Nation UK, recently undertook a heartwarming initiative to provide much-needed relief to Syrian refugee families in the Beqaa Valley. Through One Nation’s "Cold Days, Warm Hearts" initiative, warm winter apparel was distributed to refugee families during the first week of January 2025, through donations made by the Dukhni Amal Project. These families, who have no form of income, were given essential winter apparel such as warm hats, scarves, gloves, and jackets.
This effort was not just about providing physical warmth; it was about offering hope and dignity to those who have endured unimaginable hardship. For families who had been struggling to keep their children warm without sufficient fuel for heaters, this small gesture brought a sense of comfort and reassurance. The initiative served as a reminder that even in the harshest winters, compassion can bring light and warmth.
The Dukhni Amal Project’s commitment to helping vulnerable communities reflects its broader mission to support those in need. By partnering with organisations like One Nation UK, the project amplifies its reach and impact, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most. This heartwarming initiative was made possible through the continued support of Dukhni’s customers. Every purchase, every gesture of loyalty, has contributed to making a tangible difference in the lives of those less fortunate. As we usher in a new year, we’re reminded of the incredible power of collective action and shared humanity.
To our customers, we extend our deepest gratitude. Because of you, several families began their year with not only the warmth of hats, scarves, gloves, and jackets but also the warmth of being able to hold on to hope for the future. Together, we’ve shown that even the coldest days can be met with warm hearts.
Let us continue to stand together, working towards a world where no family has to face the bitter cold without hope or help. Here’s to making 2025 a year filled with compassion, solidarity, and positive change.

Gaza is currently in the grip of a humanitarian crisis. Over 1 million people live in catastrophic food insecurity, where the risk of death from starvation looms large. The devastating escalation of violence has left countless families homeless, with airstrikes destroying tens of thousands of homes. Today, 4 out of 5 people have fled their homes, seeking refuge in overcrowded shelters, schools, and hospitals.
Amidst this chaos, the simplest necessities—food and safety—are scarce. Families go days without eating, children suffer from severe hunger, and the region faces the threat of mass famine.
The Lifeline of Hot Meals
Islamic Relief, in partnership with the UN World Food Programme, is bringing a glimmer of hope to this dire situation. Together, they have provided over 36 million hot meals since October 2023, serving over 140,000 displaced individuals daily. These meals are more than just sustenance; they are a lifeline for families enduring unimaginable suffering.
Hot, ready-to-eat meals help families in Gaza to survive another day. They provide a moment of relief amid the dire circumstances and serve as a beacon of hope for the future.
Dukhni Amal Project’s Role in the MissionEvery contribution matters. Our donation to Islamic Relief is a small but meaningful part of their greater mission. Dukhni’s journey began in 1907, in Aden, in our great-grandmother's kitchen, where the art of crafting bakhoor was first nurtured by our family. Yemen is therefore more than just a part of our history—it is the heart of our heritage and identity.
Yemen, has faced immense challenges over the past decades. Ongoing conflicts, economic collapse, and food insecurity have left countless families struggling to meet their basic needs. With limited access to nutritious food and essential resources, many Yemeni citizens face daily hardships. Hot meals, often a simple luxury, become a lifeline for survival and a symbol of hope.
Recognizing the urgency of this crisis, The Dukhni Amal Project partnered with One Nation UK, for its first charitable endeavor. One Nation UK is an organization renowned for its impactful aid work across the globe. This collaboration focused on providing hot meals to those in dire need in Aden, Yemen. Thanks to this partnership, funds donated by the Dukhni Amal Project were utilized to distribute hot meals to 250 people. These meals provided essential nutrition, warmth, and a sense of comfort to families struggling amidst the harsh conditions. Each meal not only nourished bodies but also brought smiles to faces that have endured far too much hardship.
While 250 meals is a small contribution against the backdrop of a larger crisis, every act of kindness counts. Each meal delivered represents a moment of relief and hope.
This first donation is just the beginning. The Dukhni Amal Project is committed to expanding its reach, continuously supporting communities in need through similar partnerships. With every purchase from Dukhni, our customers contribute to this vital mission, becoming part of a collective effort to bring positive change to those who need it most.
Together, we can make a difference—one meal, one family, one community at a time.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Dukhni Amal Project’s future initiatives.
